This is a great movie with Sharon McWilliams, Howard Clarendon, Josh Phillips (II), Tamio oki, Noah Matisoff

Basically it’s about:
The Haibane, who look like angels with halos and small wings, share a walled town with humans. Both groups are forbidden to leave. Rakka awakens from a portentious dream when she emerges from a huge cocoon as Haibane. She was apparently human once, but can only remember fragments of that existence. She quickly settles into Old Home, a former dormitory where the Haibane live when they’re not working. With the help of some fellow Haibane, Rakka learns about the enclosed world in a succession of brief vignettes. Unfortunately, life at Old Home is about as exciting as a visit to Ozzie and Harriet. These mini-episodes are cute, wistful, and dull, with passive, uninteresting characters. Rekka’s curiosity about what lies beyond the walls will undoubtedly lead her to violate the Haibane’s most sacred law in a later episode. Insurance fraud wiped out the family finances, but Frank’s career compensates. When he suspiciously loses his partner on the job, Frank must become a master of disguise, take on a sexy new partner, and grab evidence to bust up the biggest insurance scam going.

One of Marty Robbins’s best movies. If you haven’t seen it yet, there’s no time like the present! If you’ve already seen it, it’ll be even better this time!

A little strange but far from unpleasant, Road to Nashville is a glorified gimmick held together by a lengthy parade of country & western hitmakers from 1967. The story, such as it is, finds comic actor Doodles Weaver reprising his popular character, Colonel Beedlebaum, as a bumbling movie producer sent to Nashville in search of talent for a film. While the colonel roams clulessly through recording studios and rehearsal sessions, we enjoy the smooth artistry of Marty Robbins (”Devil Woman”), the grit of a young, clean-shaven Waylon Jennings (”Anita”), the hillbilly high jinks of Quinine Gumstump & Buck (”Cutting Room Floor”), the robust balladeering of Connie Smith (”Never Get Over Loving You”), and Johnny Cash singing with the Carter Family (”Were You There”). A few other Nashville royals are in fine form: Hank Snow, Porter Wagoner, and Lefty Frizzell, among them. –Tom Keogh
